Founded over 30 years ago, in 1994, Ilan’s was the first to introduce specialty coffee to Israel. With a mission that places quality at the forefront, the company emphasizes putting coffee farmers at the center of the supply chain—recognizing their vital role in delivering the best beans. Offering a unique range of single-origin coffee from fair trade sources worldwide, alongside their own house blends, Ilan’s expanded across the country — from street locations and office buildings to Ben Gurion International Airport and Ilan Ramon Airport in Be’er Ora.
We were brought in for a comprehensive rebranding effort just before Ilan’s launched their newest venture: coffee spots in train stations all over Israel — more than 60 locations in total. The main requirement was to retain the dominating colors of royal blu and white, while all other brand elements were open for renewal.

Our first step was redesigning the logo. The original was a straightforward logotype, and our challenge was to create a distinct, memorable mark. We introduced the idea of an apostrophe — a symbol of belongings. We crafted a square-shaped apostrophe with a triangular bottom, resembling a speech bubble. From this element, we developed a secondary logo that enlarges the apostrophe, encapsulating the “ILAN’S” name within it, complemented by a new tagline: “Coffee Pioneers Since 1994.”
For the visual identity, we drew inspiration from the transport world — boarding passes, suitcase tags, and border stamps to create a series of original lettering stamps that evoke a sense of travel and discovery. We also paid homage to mid-century coffee cups, which featured geometric patterns, and incorporated these motifs into the design of takeaway bags.
In terms of color, we introduced a silver accent to give the brand a touch of futurism, referencing stainless steel elements used in suitcases, trains, and airports—symbolizing progress and modernity.
