CARMEL

CARMEL

Established as the inaugural craft cocktail bar in Haifa, The VESPER, like many other businesses, faced closure during the challenging periods of COVID lockdowns. To adapt and generate new revenue streams, the enterprising crew pivoted to offer a bottled cocktail delivery service directly to doorsteps. These Ready-to-Drink concoctions, requiring only a simple shake-and-serve, were made available in convenient 4-packs or as part of a 16-bottle crate. As the delivery service expanded its reach and garnered interest for events like weddings and business functions, the need arose for a distinct brand identity. The vibrant city of Haifa, often considered the capital of the northern district of Israel, was chosen to take center stage in this new venture. Our aim was to weave a narrative that spanned the city’s rich history from days of yore to the present. Hence, the moniker CARMEL was chosen, paying homage to the mountain upon which the city proudly stands. The logo proudly displays this name in four languages—English, Hebrew, Russian, and Arabic—symbolizing the diverse tapestry of Haifa’s residents. The tagline, “Cocktail Manufactory,” imparts a touch of nostalgic charm.

Delving into Haifa’s historical tapestry, we meticulously curated a mini-gallery featuring four iconic mayors— Hasan Shukri, Shabati Levi, Aba Hushi, and Arie Goral. Accompanying them are illustrations of landmarks and famous sites, including the sunrise over Mount Carmel, the renowned cable car, a container boat, beach umbrella and cooler, a port forklift, the old central station’s brutalist architecture, and, culminating the list, The VESPER’s downtown Haifa storefront. Each illustration is a testament to the city’s rich heritage and the project’s local roots, masterfully brought to life by the talented artist Gome Ranks.

The color palette, evoking a vintage smoky ambiance, features hues of light peachy cream, charcoal, deep Bordeaux red, golden brown, beige, and off-mint. Completing the immersive experience, we opted for flask-style bottles, resonating with an under-the-radar prohibition era vibe, adding a tactile and visual dimension to the CARMEL brand.
